Your trail: MainMOCCA OverviewMOCCA is a european coordination action from the IST 6th framework that aims at facilitating the collaboration between projects addressing mobile and wireless issues, within the European Research Area (ERA), between projects in the ERA and research programmes in Asia and the US, and between researchers and projects in the ERA and their counterparts in the developing regions of the world. MOCCA intends to address this collaboration in the context of the research and development of future mobile and wireless systems, including the services and applications they serve.
MOCCA Strategic ObjectiveMOCCA will facilitate European and international collaboration regarding research on future mobile and wireless systems and their applications. It will pave the way towards harmonised international standards for future mobile and wireless systems so that the systems meet the needs of people and organisations worldwide.
MOCCA Operational ObjectivesThe Operational Objectives of MOCCA are to: ยท*Facilitate the development of mutual understanding between ERA mobile and wireless research projects, and of time plans between the mobile and wireless technology sector and application sectors, supporting the capture of requirements for future mobile and wireless systems and preparing the harmonisation of views (WP1),
Our approach is "open to all". All interested ERA projects will be invited to participate through written contributions or meeting attendance in the activities of MOCCA. Collaboration with major mobile and wireless research programmes worldwide will be supported. To achieve its results MOCCA makes use of desk research, workshops, Task Forces, and Think Tanks of leading experts.
MOCCA results will lead to a better understanding of the different issues facing developers and users. In the long term, MOCCA results will prepare for work in standardisation. All MOCCA deliverables will be public, and the final deliverables will be presented in public workshops.
